MADISON, Wis. (AP) — In a story published July 24, 2026, about a fatal police shooting in Madison, Wisconsin, The Associated Press erroneously reported George Floyd was shot and killed by police. An officer in Minneapolis murdered Floyd by pinning him to the pavement and putting a knee to his neck.
